Over frequent applications of polish and the consequent use of polish remover can make - your nails brittle. Look for nail polish removers that are acetone free, which makes nails very dry.
- Apply hand cream after each time wash your hands because it will help build up oil levels in your nails.
- There are several exfoliants /scrub available that help to get rid of any dry skin from your hands.
- If your hands are covered with grease or oil apply a special heavy duty hand cleanser .This is far better than painfully scrubbing away with a harsh and bristled brush .
- Avoid the habit of nail biting. Don’t use your nails as a tool.
- Drink plenty of water daily.
- Detergents also make your hands dry. So always wear gloves when washing dishes or clothes.
- To keep your cuticle neat and help prevent hangnails. Push them back gently with the towel when you dry your hands.Apply a small amount of cuticle cream on each cuticle.
- Massage it in with circular motions of the thumb.Cuticle cream is used to soften the cuticle. Cuticle oil usually contains almond oil. You can use baby oil instead of cuticle cream.
- Soak finger tips in a bowl of warm soapy water for at least 2 or 3 minutes. Dry thoroughly afterwards.
- Push back cuticles very gently with a orange stick.
- Trim any hang nails carefully with cuticle clipper.
- In winter hands can get very dry,rough and sore. Washing them will make them rougher still, so do it gently ,and try to avoid scrubbing at your nails with a hard brush.Scrubbing will make your nails weakens .To protect your hands from chopping ,take extra care to dry them throughly after washing.
- Apply a small amount of exfoliant with circular motions of your finger.Then wash your hands and dry throughly.
- Apply thick layer of hand mask, keep the hand mask on for as long as possible.
Apply a rich moisturizer.Work into the skin with a circular motion .
Dont file your nails when they are wet because they are more liable to break.
Eat daily fresh fruits and vegtables .
